Great Match

El Clásico, also known as El derbí Español or El Clàssic is the name generically given to any football match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. It is contested at least (and usually) bi-annually as part of the Spanish "La Liga" competition, with a maximum of nine matches a year, with two extra in the "Copa del Rey", the Champions Leage, and the "Super Copa de España", with another possible in the UEFA Super Cup. Other than the UEFA Champions Leage Final, it is the most followed club football match in the world, watched by hundreds of millions of people.

The rivalry comes about as Madrid and Barcelona are the two largest cities in Spain, and the two clubs are the most successful and influential football clubs in the country. Real Madrid has amassed 73 trophies and Barcelona 68.
